Manfaat Jambu Biji Khasiat Daun, Kulit, Batang dan Akarnya


Manfaat  jambu biji beserta daun, kulit, akar dan batang, sudah diketahui dari jaman dulu. Namun tidak sedikit orang yang tidak mengetahui apa saja khasiat atau manfaat yang terkandung dari tanaman yang satu ini.

Jambu biji termasuk buah yang kaya vitamin. Namun, bukan hanya buahnya yang berguna, mulai dari akar, daun, kulit, dan batangnya juga sangat fungsional, terutama untuk oabt-obatan. Akar, kulit, batang, dan daunnya dapat menyembuhkan mencret, sariawan, diare, dan penyakit perut lainnya. Caranya , akar, kulit, batang, dan daunnya direbus sampai mendidih, kemudian airnya diminum.

Tanaman jambu biji berkhasiat sebagai obat antibakteri karena mengandung avikularin dan guaijaverin. Daunnya dapat menyembuhkan luka. Caranya, daun jambu biji ditumbuk halus kemudian ditempelkan pada lukanya.

Daun jambi biji juga bisa dipergunakan untuk pengawetan telur ayam rebus. Daunnya juga bisa meredam atau minimal meringankan aroma jengkol yang menyengat. Caranya, jengkol direbus dengan daun jambu biji. Buah jambu biji, selain enak di konsumsi secara langsung, juga bisa digunakan sebagai bahan baku untuk minuman sari buah dan bermacam-macam makanan yang berguna bagi kesehatan manusia.


Dalam perang dunia kedua, makanan darurat tentara Amerika dilengkapi dengan makanan dari buah jambu biji untuk meningkatkan daya tahan mereka terhadap infeksi. Disamping kadar vitaminnya tinggi, buah jambu biji mengandung cukup banyak mineral besi, fospat, dan kapur. Zat besi 4/5 bagian berada pada biji, sayangnya tidak dapat dicerna oleh manusia maupun hewan.

Biji jambu yang tertelan oleh manusia maupun hewan akan keluar lagi dalam keadaan utuh bersama kotoran. Untuk itu, hewan merupakan salah satu pengembangbiakan tanaman jambu biji, karena ia menaburkan bijinya di berbagai tempat.

Tinggi rendahnya  kadar vitamin A buah jambu biji sangat dipengaruhi oleh warna dagingnya. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tiap 100 gram daging buahnya mengandung 3.100 mikrogram vitamin A dan 310 miligram vitamin C. Buah daging yang pucat warnanya biasanya tidak mengandung vitamin A, namun rata-rata masih mengandung 46 miligram vitamin C. Dengan demikian, buah jambu biji yang dagingnya berwarna apapun pasti mengandung vitamin C yang lumayan tinggi.

Selain buah yang matang, daun, kulit batang, akar, dan buah mudanya mengandung zat psiditanin. Daunnya mengandung minyak atsiri eugenol dan damar disamping zat-zat mineral yang terdapat di dalam buah. Dalam ramuan tradisional, daun, kulit, batang, akar, dan buah mudanya, dinyatakan sangat mujarab untuk pengobatan penyakit disentri, mencret, radang lambung, sariawan. Keputihan, dan lain-lain.

Akar atau 5-7 lembar daun jambu biji jika dituang dengan air panas lalu airnya di minum sebanyak 3-4 sendok, bisa menyembuhkan penyakit disentri, mencret, dan gangguan pencernaan lainnya. Selain itu, arang batang jambu biji yang ditumbuk halus dapat dijadikan roti. Jika ada tanda-tanda anda terserang penyakit flu, segeralah makan buah jambu biji. Anda akan terhindar dari penyakit tersebut. Membisakan memakan buah jambu biji merupakan usaha preventif untuk mencegah penyakit flu.

Orang yang terserang penyakit yang cukup berat, semisal demam berdarah, sangat dianjurkan untuk mengkonsumsi buah jambu biji, terutama yang dagingnya berwarna merah. Jambu biji yang dagingnya berwarna merah sudah cukup terkenal bisa membantu proses kesembuhan seseorang yang terkena penyakit demam berdarah. Hal ini bisa terjadi karena kadar gizi dan vitamin yang terdapat pada buah jambu biji yang dagingnya berwarna merah mampu meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh seseorang yang terkena penyakit cukup berat dan serius.

Sebelum ada perkembangan teknologi makanan, buah jambu biji biasanya dinikmati secara langsung. Anak-anak dan orang dewasa yang masih kuat giginya dapat menikmati buah yang ¾ masak atau sudah benar –benar masak dan lunak. Orang tua yang giginya sudah rapuh dan ompong masih bisa menikmati buah jambu biji yang sangat matang dan sudah benar-benar lunak dagingnya.

Beberapa orang beranggapan bahwa memakan buah jambu biji dapat mengakibatkan sakit perut, bahkan sakit usus buntu. Kekhawatiran ini sebenarnya hanya merupakan dugaan saja. Rasa takut bisa diatasi dengan cara memakan daging buah jambu biji bagian luar saja.

Jika ingin memakan keseluruhan bagian buahnya, kita bisa melumatkan seluruh buah dengan cara merebusnya dalam air kemuian disaring dan dipisahkan bijinya. Daging buah yang sudah lumat bisa ditambah gula, sesuai selera. Untuk menambah nikmatnya rasa, daging buahnya bisa dibubuhi sedikit air jeruk atau asam sitrun.

Cara lain yang bisa ditempuh untuk memisahkan bij buah jambu biji dari dagingnya adalah dengan cara dibuat juice. Setelah juice jadi, biji didalamnya bisa disaring. Kita pun mendapatkan  minuman yang nikmat dan segar, mengandung gizi tinggi, dan aman. Jus jambu biji juga bisa dimanfaatkan sebagai pengganti air jeruk dan tomat yang dikonsumsi oleh bayi dan anak-anak.

Mengenal Ras Ras Kambing Di Indonesia

Beberapa jenis kambing di Indonesia tersebar di daerah kering dan berbukit atau daerah pegunungan, kambing adalah jenis hewan yang takut air, cara beternak kambing dapat digolongkan menjadi 2 type yaitu :

- Kambing potong (penghasilan daging)
- Kambing dwi fungsi (penghasil daging dan susu)

Berdasarkan tujuan pemeliharaan, cara beternak kambing dapat digolongkan menjadi dua yaitu :

- Kambing untuk pembibitan
- Kambing untuk penggemukan.

Beberapa jenis kambing yang telah dikenal oleh masyarakat umum adalah

- Kambing Kacang
- Kambing Peranakan Etawah (PE)

Kedua jenis kambing ini sudah beradaptasi dengan baik dengan kondisi tropis basah di Indonesia, namun cara beternak kambing masing-masing jenis memiliki keistimewaan. Kambing kacang mempunyai keistimewaan dibandingkan kambing PE yaitu ber anak kembar dan jarak beranak yang lebih pendek.

Hal lain yang perlu kita ketahui dalam menjalankan cara beternak kambing yang baik adalah, kita memastikan untuk mengetahui “ras kambing” yang akan kita ternakkan, hal ini bertujuan agar kita sudah mengetahui sejak awal perilaku, keuntungan dan kerugian beternak “ras kambing” tertentu sehingga kita bisa mengoptimalkan hasil dan meminimalkan resiko. adapun ras kambing asli Indonesia adalah :

Kambing Marica
Kambing Marica tersebar di propinsi sulawesi selatan, kambing marica ini hampir mirip dengan kambing kacang, namun ada perbedaan yaitu penampilan tubuh lebih kecil dibandingan kambing kacang, telinga berdiri menghadap samping arah kedepan, tanduk relatif kecil dan pendek

Kambing Samosir
Kambing ini dipelihara secara turun temurun oleh penduduk yang tinggal di pulau samosir, ditengah danau toba, kabupaten samosir, propinsi sumatera utara.

Kambing Muara
Kambing muara dijumpai di daerah kecamatan muara, kabupaten Tapanuli utara di propinsi sumatera utara. Penampilan gagah, tubuh kompak dan sebaran warna bulu bervariasi antara warna bulu coklat kemerahan, putih dan hitam. Bobot kambing muara lebih besar dibandingkan kambing kacang.

Kambing Kosta
Lokais penyebaran kambing kosta di sekitar jakarta dan propinsi banten, kambing ini mempunyai bentuk tubuh sedang, hidung rata dan kadang kadang ada yang melengkung, tanduk pendek dan berbulu pendek

Kambing Gembrong
Kambing gembrong tersebar di daerah kawasan timur pulau bali terutama di kabupaten karangasem, ciri khas dari kambing ini adalah berbulu panjang, panjang bulu sekitar 15-25 cm, bahkan rambut pada bagian kepala sampai menutupi muka dan telinga. Rambut panjang terdapat pada kambing jantan, sedangkan kambing gembrong betina berbulu pendek berkisar 2-3 cm, kambing gembrong ini lebih kecil dari kambing PE namun lebih besar dari kambing kacang.

Kambing Benggala
Kambing benggala diduga merupakan hasil persilangan kambing black benggala dengan kambing kacang. Kambing ini tersebar di daerah sekitar pulau timor dan pulau flores di propinsi nusa tenggara timur.

Kambing Kacang
Kambing kacang merupakan kambing asli Indonesia. Kambing ini tersebar hampir di seluruh Indonesia. Ciri-ciri kambing kacang: badan kecil, telinga pendek tegak, leher pendek, punggung meninggi, jantan dan betina bertanduk, tinggi badan jantan dewasa rata-rata 60–65 cm, tinggi badan betina dewasa rata-rata 56 cm, bobot dewasa untuk betina rata-rata 20 kg dan jantan 25 kg.

Kambing Peranakan Etawah (PE)
Kambing Peranakan Etawah (PE) merupakan kambing hasil persilangan antara kambing Etawah (asal India) dengan kambing Kacang. Kambing ini tersebar hampir di seluruh Indonesia. Penampilannya mirip kambing Etawah, tetapi lebih kecil. Kambing PE merupakan kambing tipe dwiguna, yaitu sebagai penghasil daging dan susu (perah). Peranakan yang penampilannya mirip kambing Kacang disebut Bligon atau Jawa randu yang merupakan tipe pedaging. (Pamungkas et al., 2009). Ciri-ciri Kambing PE: telinga panjang dan terkulai, panjang telinga 18–30 cm, warna bulu bervariasi dari coklat muda sampai hitam. Bulu kambing PE jantan bagian atas leher dan pundak lebih tebal dan agak panjang. Bulu kambing PE betina pada bagian paha panjang. Berat badan kambing PE jantan dewasa 40 kg dan betina 35 kg, tinggi pundak 76-100 cm.

10 Langkah Beternak Kambing Yang Efektif Untuk Pemula

1. Memilih bibit yang baik
- Pejantan
Kondisi tubuh sehat, tubuh besar (sesuai umur), bulu bersih dan mengkilap, badan panjang, kaki lurus, tidak cacat, tumit tinggi, penampilan gagah, aktif dan nafsu kawin tinggi, mudah ereksi, buah zakar normal (2 buah, sama besar dan kenyal).

- Betina
Kondisi tubuh sehat, tidak terlalu gemuk dan tidak cacat, bulu bersih dan mengkilap, alat kelamin normal, mempunyai sifat keibuan (mengasuh anak dengan baik), ambing (buah susu) normal (halus kenyal tidak terinfeksi atau terjadi pembengkakan

2. Mengatur perkawinan kambing
Kambing telah dewasa kelamin dapat dikawinkan. Kambing dewasa kelamin umumnya pada umur 6-8 bulan (sudah mulai birahi). Umur dapat diketahui dengan catatan kelahiran atau dapat dilihat dari giginya. Umur pertama kali dikawinkan 10–12 bulan untuk kambing betina, sedangkan umur lebih dari 1 tahun untuk kambing jantan.

Tanda-tanda birahi pada kambing betina ;
- Gelisah
- Alat kelamin bagian luar bengkak, basah, merah dan hangat.
- Ekor digerak-gerakan.
- Diam bila dinaiki oleh pejantan.
- Nafsu makan berkurang.
Lama berahi sekitar 30 jam, sedangkan siklus birahi sekitar 17 hari.

3. Mengetahui waktu yang baik untuk mengawinkan
Waktu mengawinkan yang tepat adalah 12-18 jam setelah terlihat tanda-tanda birahi, untuk memudahkan proses kawin dan mengurangi resiko kegagalan, maka kambing betina dan pejantan dikandangkan dalam satu kandang, hindarkan terjadinya perkawainan anatara saudara, anak dengan bapak dan induk dengan anak.

4. Menangani kelahiran dengan benar
Kambing yang akan melahirkan nampak gelisah, menggaruk-garuk tanah/lantai kandang, mengembik, pinggul mengendur, kambing sangat besar dan bila dipecet keluar cairan (kolostrum), alat kelamin membengkak dan nafsu makan turun.

5. Perawatan anak kambing
Kambing yang habis melahirkan kadang-kadang kurang perhatian terhadap anak yang baru saja dilahirkan, apabila induk tidak mau menyusui, dekatkan induk pada anaknya sehingga anak kambing dapat menyusu, jika induk tetap tidak mau menyusui, anak kambing dapat diberi susu buatan. Susu buatan ini dapat dibuat dari susu bubuk putih, gula 1 sendok teh, 1 butir telur ayam dan 1 cangkir air matang, susu buatan ini diberikan dua kali sehari sampai induk mau menyusui sendiri.

6. Mengerti periode Menyusui bagi kambing
Kambing akan menyusui selama 2,5 – 3 bulan, pada sistem peternakan tradisional dapat sampai 5-6 bulan

7. Pendugaan umur kambing
Umur kambing dapat diperkirakan dari gigi yang tumbuh :
- Semua gigi belum permanen (umur kurang dari 1 tahun)
- Satu pasang gigi permanen (umur 1-2 tahun)
- Dua pasang gigi permanen (umur 2-3 tahun)
- Tiga pasang gigi permanen (umur 3-4 tahun)
- Seluruh gigi permanen (umur 4-5 tahun)

8. Memberikan pakan yang baik
Pakan kambing secara umum dapat dibagi menjadi dua, yaitu pakan hijauan dan konsentrat. Pakan hijauan dapat berupa rumput alam, rumput yang dibudidayakan dan daun kacang-kacangan, sedangkan pakan konsentrat dapat berupa dedak padi.

Rumput merupakan sumber tenaga atau energi bagi ternak kambing. Jenis rumput yang umum diberikan ternak adalah rumput alam (rumput lapangan). Jenis rumput yang dibudidayakan (ditanam) antara lain: rumput setaria, brachiaria dan clitoria ternatea. Selain rumput, sisa hasil pertanian juga dapat digunakan sebagai sumber tenaga atau energi antara lain: dedak padi, kulit dan daun singkong, daun pepaya, batang kangkung, daun jagung dan jerami padi. Pakan sebagai sumber protein yang baik untuk pertumbuhan kambing antara lain: daun kacang tanah, daun kacang panjang, daun kedelai, daun gamal, daun turi, daun lamtoro dan daun kaliandra.

Pakan hijauan: 10% dari berat badan Pakan konsentrat: 0,5 kg Jika hanya diberi pakan hijauan, maka pakan hijauan tersebut diberikan dengan jumlah 10% dari berat badan dengan susunan pakan sebagai berikut:

a. Kambing Dewasa: 1 bagian daun + 3 bagian rumput
b. Kambing yang akan dikawinkan: 2 bagian daun berprotein + 3 bagian rumput
c. Kambing bunting: 3 bagian daun + 3 bagian rumput

Mineral dibutuhkan untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan menjaga kondisi tumbuh supaya tetap sehat. Garam dapur merupakan salah satu sumber mineral. Selain itu mineral yang lain dapat dibeli di toko pertanian.

Cara Pemberian Pakan

a. Siapkan ruas bambu dengan panjang 40-50 cm, kemudian kupas kulit luarnya.
b. Lubangi kecil-kecil pada bagian bawahnya.
c. Masukan garam dapur atau mineral jadi ke dalam ruas bambu sampai penuh.
d. Masukkan air kurang lebih setengah gelas ke dalam ruas bambu yang sudah diisi garam atau mineral.
e. Gantungkan bambu tersebut di dinding kandang.

Air minum dapat diberikan dengan wadah ember atau tempat yang bersih dan diberikan sepanjang hari.

9. Mempersiapkan dan merawat kandang yang sehat
Kandang diusahakan menghadap ke timur agar memenuhi persyaratan kesehatan ternak. Bahan yang digunakan harus kuat, murah dan tersedia di lokasi. Kandang dibuat panggung dan beratap dengan tempat pakan dan minum. Dinding kandang harus mempunyai ventilasi (lubang angin) agar sirkulasi udara lebih baik.

Kambing sebaiknya dipelihara dalam kandang untuk:

a. Memudahkan dalam pengawasan terhadap kambing yang sakit atau yang sedang dalam masa kebuntingan.
b. Memudahkan dalam pemberian pakan.
c. Menjaga keamanan ternak.

Ukuran Kandang yang baik untuk kambing

- Anak: 1 X 1,2 m /2 ekor (lepas sapih)
- Jantan dewasa: 1,2 X 1,2 m/ ekor
- Dara/ Betina dewasa:1 X 1,2 m /ekor
- Induk dan anak: 1,5 X 1,5 m/induk + 2 anak

10. Dapat mengenali penyakit dan tahu cara mengatasinya

a) Penyakit Cacingan
- Penyebab
Penyakit cacingan pada kambing dapat disebabkan oleh cacing gilig, pipih dan cacing pita.
- Gejala
Kambing semakin kurus, bulu berdiri dan kusam, nafsu makan berkurang, kambing terlihat pucat, kotoran lembek sampai mencret.
- Penanganan
1. Obat tradisional
a. Daun nanas yang dikeringkan dan dihaluskan, kemudian ditimbang 300 mg untuk 1 kg berat badan kambing, dicampur air, selanjutnya diminumkan dan diulang 10 hari sekali (jangan diberikan pada ternak bunting).
b. Daun nanas segar dihilangkan durinya, ditimbang 600 mg untuk 1 kg berat badan kambing, kemudian diberikan pada kambing dan diulang 10 hari sekali (jangan diberikan pada ternak bunting).

2. Obat pabrikan
Biasanya menggunakan albendazole, valbanzen atau ivermectin yang diulang setiap 3 bulan sekali.

- Pencegahan
a. Jagalah kandang tetap bersih dan kering.
b. Buanglah kotoran, sampah dan sisa pakan jauh dari lokasi kandang atau dibuat kompos.
c. Jangan menggembalakan kambing pada pagi hari dan pada satu area (usahakan berpindah-pindah).
d. Jangan berikan rumput yang masih berembun.
e. Sabitlah rumput 2-3 cm di atas permukaan tanah.

b) Penyakit Kudis (Scabies/Kurap)
- Penyebab
Parasit kulit (Sarcoptes sp)
- Gejala
a. Kulit merah dan menebal.
b. Gatal dan gelisah, sering menggaruk-garukkan kulit yang terinfeksi pada dinding kandang.
c. Bulu rontok.
d. Bagian tubuh yang sering diserang muka, telinga, pangkal ekor dan leher.

- Penanganan
1. Obat tradisional
a. Oli 1 cangkir + cuka 1 sendok makan + belerang yang sudah dihaluskan 1 sendok makan atau 4 siung bawang merah yang sudah dihaluskan, kemudian semua bahan dicampur dan oleskan 2x sehari pada kulit kambing sampai sembuh.
b. Belerang dihaluskan 3 sendok makan + 1 sendok makan minyak goreng oleskan 2x sehari sampai sembuh.

2. Obat pabrikan
Suntik dengan Ivermectin secara sub cutan (dibawah kulit).

- Pencegahan
a. Jauhkan kambing sakit dengan kambing sehat.
b. Bersihkan kandang setiap hari, lebih baik lagi menggunakan sabun atau zat pembersih kandang.
c. Jagalah kebersihan kambing dengan memandikan kambing dengan larutan asumtol 2%.
d. Mencuci tangan sebelum dan sesudah bersentuhan dengan kambing.

c) Diare
- Penyebab
Pakan berjamur atau terlalu muda, bakteri, virus dan protozoa.
- Gejala
a. Kotoran encer dan warnanya hijau terang/hijau gelap sampai hijau kekuningan.
b. Kambing lemas, bila dibiarkan dapat menyebabkan kematian.
c. Bulu-bulu sekitar dubur kotor akibat kotoran.

- Penanganan
a. Pisahkan kambing sakit dari kambing sehat.
b. Berikan larutan oralit, larutkan 2 sendok makan garam + 2 sendok makan gula dalam 2,5 liter air dingin yang sudah dimasak.
c. Bila keadaannya tidak membaik segera hubungi petugas kesehatan hewan (dokter hewan).

- Pencegahan
a. Hindari pemberian pakan yang menyebabkan diare.
b. Jagalah kandang tetap bersih.

d) Keracunan
- Penyebab
Tanaman beracun atau tanaman yang tercemar pestisida.
- Gejala
Mulut berbusa, kejang-kejang, muka kemerahan dan bengkak, diare berdarah, dan kematian mendadak.

- Penanganan
a. Berikan air kelapa.
b. Berikan norit 2-3 tablet.
c. Hubungi petugas kesehatan hewan (dokter hewan).

- Pencegahan
a. Jangan menggembalakan kambing di tempat yang banyak tanaman beracun.
b. Jauhkan kambing dari sawah atau ladang yang sedang dipupukan atau disemprot pestisida.

e) Kembung Perut
- Penyebab
Gas yang ditimbulkan oleh makanan (rumput muda).
- Gejala
Perut sebelah kiri membesar, napas pendek dan cepat, tidak mau makan.
- Penanganan
Berikan larutan gula merah dan asam jawa, keluarkan gas dengan cara mengurut-urut perut kambing.
- Pencegahan
Jangan diberi rumput muda.

Manfaat Jeruk Nipis

Jeruk merupakan buah yang dikenal oleh setiap orang. Dapat dikatakan bahwa setiap orang mempunyai dan pernah makan buah yang enak rasanya ini. Selain rasanya yang enak, buah jeruk nipis banyak sekali manfaatnya untuk kesehatan.

Seperti kita ketahui, jeruk mengandung vitamin C dan A, dua vitamin yang sangat penting sekali untuk kesehatan manusia. Bahkan jeruk bukan hanya mengandung vitamin C dan A saja, melainkan juga mengandung vitamin B1 dan B2.

Kalau ingin jeruk yang kandungan vitamin C nya banyak, maka kita dapat memilih jeruk nipis atau yang lebih dikenal pula dengan nama jeruk pecel dan juga jeruk sitrun. Tapi ingat bahwa yang mengandung vitamin C ini bukan hanya kedua jeruk ini saja, melainkan semua buah jeruk juga mengandung vitamin C, hanya saja kadarnya yang paling banyak adalah jeruk nipis dan jeruk sitrun.


Apakah kegunaan vitamin C ini buat tubuh kita? Sebenarnya kegunaan vitamin C bagi tubuh adalah sebagai perisai tubuh dari berbagai penyakit. Orang yang kekurangan vitamin C akan cepat lesu dan lelah serta sangat mudah terserang/dihinggapi berbagai penyakit.


Lagi pula kalau badan kita kekurangan vitamin C akan dapat mengakibatkan kurangnya nafsu makan, gigi kita tidak kuat dan mudah goyah, serta bisa mengakibatkan pendarahan ringan dibawah kulit kita.

Jeruk juga banyak menganung vitamin A, maka sangat baik sekali buat mata. Karena orang yang kekurangan vitamin A maka penglihatan menjadi buram. Bila tidak segera diobati lama kelamaan menjadi buta. 

Memang kebutuhan Vitamin A bagi tubuh kita hanya sedikit. Maka kalau kita setiap hari makan sebutir jeruk saja, itu sudah cukup dan tubuh kita tidak akan kekurangan vitamin A. Perlu diketahui bahwa buah-buahan yang dagingnya berwarna kuning, seperti jeruk dan juga mangga banyak mengandung vitamin A. demikian juga bangsa umbi-umbian yang dagingnya berwarna.

Karena jeruk rasanya enak, maka sangat disukai orang tua maupun anak-anak. Karena itu pabrik-pabrik farmasi dalam membuat obat-obatan untuk anak-anak sering diramu dengan rasa jeruk. Dalam pengobatan traisional, buah jeruk memegang peranan cukup penting.
