Cara Menghilangkan Mreki / Gurem Pada Kandang Ayam

Kutu kecil-kecil pada ayam atau Mreki (jawa) atau gurem merupakan hama bagi para peternak ayam. Hama ayam ini pada umumnya adalah binatang yang sering menganggu atau menempel pada bagian tubuh ayam sambil menghisap sari-sari makanan dari tubuh ayam tersebut. Dampak dari hama memang tidak langsung menimbulkan kematian tetapi sangat merugikan, sebab dapat menganggu ketenangan ayam sehingga pertumbuhan dan produktivitasnya berkurang.

Gurem merupakan parasit yang sering menyerang ayam pada waktu mengeram, sehingga menimbulkan gejala gatal-gatal yang luar biasa disekujur tubuh.

Gejalanya:
Pada awalnya, ayam merasa gatal-gatal terutama pada bulu ekornya.
Ketika kondisinya semakin parah, rasa gatal itu melanda seluruh permukaaan tubuh.

Umur ayam yang diserang:
Gurem pada umumnya menyerang ayam yang sedang mengerami telurnya, tetapi bila gurem tersebut terlalu banyak, ayam-ayam yang tidak mengeram pun akan diserang pula.

Penularannya:
Kontak langsung dengan antara ayam yang sedang mengidap gurem dengan yang tidak.
Adanya angin yang membawa terbang gurem-gurem pada ayam yang sedang mengeram ke kandang ayam lainya.

Cara mengatasi:
- Gunakan tembakau kering atau daun sirih kering yang sudah dirajang dan taburkan pada tempat ayam bertelur serta di sekitar kandang atau gunakan sebagai petarangan ayam, terkadang ada yang menggunakan bekas puntung rokok.
- Alternatif lain memakai Peditox juga bisa,langsung ditaburkan di sekitar kandang atau tempat indukan sedang mengerami.
- Ada juga dengan tumbuhan namanya BENGLE,tumbuhan obat sejenis JAHE tapi rimpangnya berwarna kuning.Caranya parut rimpang bengle,ambil airnya kemudian disemprotkan/cipratkan ke lokasi yg kena gurem
- Gunakan Kapur Ajaib, digerus atau dikerik kemudian ditabur di petarangan/tempat angrem ayam. Satu batang kapur bisa dipake untuk 3 -4 petarangan.

Pencegahan Penyakit Pada Ayam Kampung

Masalah serius dari peternakan ayam kampung adalah timbulnya berbagai penyakit. Seiring dengan musim kemarau yang berkempanjangan tentu akan menimbulkan berbagai penyakit pula. Untuk itu langkah terbaik dalam beternak ayam adalah mencegah berbagai penyakit ayam. Dengan mencegah akan lebih baik dari pada mengobati bukan?

Banyak penyakit datang dari fasilitas kandang yang kurang baik. Untuk itu langkah mencegah datangnya penyakit adalah sanitasi atau kebersihan kandang itu sendiri. Dengan begitu ancaman dari virus dan bakteri yang merugikan semakin ditekan sehingga penyakit dapat dihindari. Adapun cara mencegah penyakit pada ayam kampung adalah sebagai berikut :

1. Berilah abu atau bahan lain yang dapat menyerap air dari kotoran ayam. 
Letakkan dimana terdapat penumpukan kotoran ayam. Biasanya di bawah tempat bertengger atau di bawah sarang bertelur. Cara ini dilakukan dengan maksud mengurangi kelembaban atau air pada kotoran. Sehingga virus dan bakteri tidak akan berkembang. Bahan lain yang dapat digunakan adalah kapur atau gamping (bahasa jawa). Bila ingin dijadikan kompos taruh kulit padi atau gabah (bahasa jawa). Usahakan lantai atau litter dalam keadaan kering.

2. Di dalam kandang usahakan udara dapat keluar masuk dengan bebas.
Artinya usahakan kandang memiliki ventilasi atau saluran udara yang cukup. Dengan demikian udara atau bahkan penyakit dapat bersirkulasi dengan baik. Cara ini dimaksudkan untuk ayam mendapat udara yang selalu baru dan dapat mencegah timbulnya berbagai penyakit. Kandang yang terlalu tertutup atau bahkan redup akibat kurangnya udara dan cahaya yang cukup mengakibatkan ayam kurang nafsu makan.

3. Gantilah air setiap paling lama 2-3 hari 1X.
Air harus dalam keadaan yang bersih dan bebas dari tanah atau kotoran ayam. Biasanya untuk kandang model litter akan rawan terhadap air kotor. Jadi pastikan air selalu diganti. Air yang bersih mengurangi tersumbatnya hidung ayam karena biasanya ayam akan mencelupkan paruhnya sampai ke hidungnya. Dengan begitu penyakit dapat dicegah terutama untuk pernapasan.

4. Sarang bertelur (induk) bisanya adalah tempat yang selalu kotor.
Terutama setelah menetas, biasanya akan timbul hewan kecil seperti mreki (bahasa jawa). Untuk itu sarang hanya 1x pakai, bakar sarang tersebut dan ganti dengan yang baru. Tidak hanya itu, sarang bertelur yang pada umumnya lembab akan muncul nyamuk yang juga bersarang di bawahnya. Semprotlah dengan desinfektan atau air daun sirih untuk pencegahan timbulnya penyakit.

5. Pisahkan ayam yang sakit atau isolasikan ke tempat yang jauh dari ayam-ayam sehat.
Dengan mengisolasi ayam yang sakit akan memutus rantai penularan bibit penyakit ayam. Ayam yang sakit biasanya akan berakibat dengan perkembangannya. Untuk itu cara penanggulangannya adalah mengobati dan memacu pertumbuhannya. Dengan kata lain saat ayam yang sakit kita pisahkan langkah yang kita lakukan adalah mengobati penyakit dan memacu dari pakan agar mengejar pertumbuhan dari ayam-ayam yang sehat.

6. Jangan membeli ayam yang sakit!
Ayam yang sakit biasanya didapat dari hasil transportasi atau dari penjual ayam. Untuk itu bila terlanjur dibeli usahakan jangan ditaruh di kandang dahulu. Isolasikan setiap ayam baru sebelum ditaruh di kandang bersama ayam lama meski berada di kandang yang berbeda. Dengan adanya ayam baru yang sakit merupakan langkah awal munculnya penyakit.

7. Karakter asli ayam kampung adalah mengais atau menceker-ceker tanah dengan kakinya.
Dengan begitu kaki ayam menjadi rawan tercemarnya penyakit. Banyak penyakit dimulai dari kaki kotor seperti bubul ayam. Bila kaki ayam kotor atau sakit bubul ayam semprotlah dengan air garam dan bawang putih. Tapi ingat, jangan langsung di goreng ya! :D

8. Cegah datangnya penyakit dengan menghindari tergenangnya air di kandang ayam.
Air yang menggenang atau kelembaban yang berlebih dapat menjadi sarang berbagai penyakit atau nyamuk yang dapat merugikan ayam di dalam kandang. Kelembaban di dalam kandang yang berlebih mengakibatkan ayam kurang bergerak lincah dan ayam hanya merenung.

9. Kubur ayam yang mati.
Biasanya malah di bakar, tapi menurut kami ayam yang dibakar menjadi pembawa atau penyebar penyakit karena udara yang dihasilkan dari pembakaran ayam yang mati. Dengan mengubur ayam maka tidak akan menimbulkan penyakit namun malah kebalikannya yaitu sebagai pupuk. Kuburlah ayam yang mati di sekitar pohon seperti pisang dan lainnya.

10. Usahakan membersihkan kandang ayam setiap hari.
Sapulah kotoran ayam dengan sapu lidi dan pinggirkan kotoran ayam. Kotoran yang menumpuk di kandang akan menyebabkan bau yang menyengat dan hidupnya bibit penyakit.

11. Berilah tanaman sebagai penyejuk di sekitar kandang.
Ada banyak pilihan yang dapat kita gunakan. Misalnya tanaman anti serangga, dan lainnya. Dengan cara ini dimaksudkan memberi sejuk kandang dan menyerap bibit penyakit. Tanaman ditempatkan di pinggir kandang dan usahakan tanaman yang ada di kandang adalah tanaman yang apabila dimakan ayam akan aman. Seperti sifat ayam yang akan memakan dedaunan di sekitarnya.

12. Pisahkan antara tempat bertengger/nangkring dari tempat bertelur.
Jika sarang bertelur dekat dengan tempat bertengger maka kotoran akan jatuh pada sarang ayam yang dapat merugikan ayam terutama telur yang dierami tersebut.

Selain cara tersebut di atas masih banyak lagi cara untuk mencegah datangnya penyakit ayam. Di antaranya adalah :
a. Semprotlah sekitar kandang pada siang hari untuk mengurangi panas yang berlebih yang dapat menyebabkan stress pada ayam
b. Berilah pakan yang selalu baru. Pakan yang terlalu lama dapat menimbulkan tumbuhnya jamur dan hewan merugikan lain
c. Bersihkan tempat pakan sebelum memberi atau menghidangkan pakan
d. Berilah sarapan pagi yang hangat untuk menghangatkan badan.
e. Berilah kunyit sebagai jamu dan berbagai obat herbal atau jamu alami lainnya.

Manfaat Tumbuhan Paku

Mungkin selama ini kita tidak tau bahwa kita telah merasakan manfaat tumbuhan paku, atau bisa saja kita hanya memandang tanaman paku sebagai benalu. Menurut para ilmuwan tumbuhan paku memiliki lima belas ribu jenis mereka dapat hidup diwilayah belahan dunia manapun.

Tumbuhan paku paling sering kita lihat sebagai tanaman hias yang sering dipajang di halaman rumah atau di pot-pot cantik yang menghiasi teras rumah kita. Lebih daripada itu tanaman paku dapat kita gunakan sebagai obat, pupuk dan sebagainya. Di bawah ini ada beberapa kelebihan tanaman paku yang dapat kita ambil manfaatnya.

Manfaat tumbuhan paku:

  • Beberapa jenis tumbuhan paku dipelihara sebagai tanaman hias, misalnya paku tanduk rusa (Platycerium bifurcatum), paku sarang burung (Asplenium sp,.), suplir (Adiantum sp,.), dan paku rane (selaginella sp.)
  • Tumbuhan paku juga ada yang dimanfaatkan sebagai penghasil obat-obatan.Misalnya aspidium sp,.Dryopteris filix mas, dan Lycopodium clavatum.
  • Tumbuhan paku juga dimanfaatkan sebgai sayuran. Contohnya adalah semanggi dan Pteridium aquilinium.
  • Dalam hal kesuburan tanah, tumbuhan paku juga dimanfaatkan sebagai pupuk hijau, misalnya azolla pinnata. Dalam hidupnya, tumbuhan paku ini hidup bersimbiosis dengan ganggang hijau-biru yaitu Anabaena azollae dalam mengikat nitrogen dari udara.
  • Dapat digunakan sebagai bahan untuk membuat karangan bunga, misalnya Lycopodium cernuum.



Tumbuhan paku tidak hanya memiliki tubuh kecil ada juga yang memiliki tubuh besar alias raksasa namun tumbuhan itu dapat ditemukan pada zaman Karbon, dan tumbuhan paku yang besar-besar dapat dikelompokan menjadi dua yaitu, Lepidodendron dan Sigillaria.

Biasanya kelompok Lepidodendron memiliki ketinggian sampai 30 m dan memiliki diameter batangnya kurang lebih satu meter dan panjang daunnya 10-60 cm meranggas dan sempit-sempit.
